CAAM's state level annual awards for the best farm writings (in Kannada) in the farmer and general category for the year 2002 have been announced. Mr. Ramakrishna Shastri Padaru of Dakshina Kannada District and Mr. G. Krishna Prasad of Bangalore have been selected for the awards in the farmer and non-farmer section respectively. The awards carry a cash prize of Rs.2000 each besides a citation.

Mr. Padaru's article on irrigation in arecanut farming, published in Adike Patrike (November-December 2001) and Mr. Krishna Prasad's article on Mysore Mallige, a paddy variety developed by a farmer, published in Prajavani (January 16, 2002) have been selected for the award.
The awards will be presented on the occasion of CAAM's second anniversary to be held in Sanenahalli, a village in Hassan District on November 24, 2002. The programme will be held under the auspices of Parisarapriya Krishkara Sanghatane (Eco-friendly farmers' forum), Hassan.
