  • CAAM organises issue-based workshop

    CAAM has planned a mid-term refresher course for its course candidates and CAAM Fellows in the Second Week of August. One of the major goals of the course would be to discuss the present farming crisis in the state. As in many other states farmers’ suicides is increasing in Karnataka every year.

  • Information kit on farm and rural journalism released

    As an attempt at popularising the concept of farmer-friendly communication further, CAAM has prepared an information kit on farm and rural journalism in Kannada. The effort first of its kind in Kannada journalism was released in a programme organised by Adike Patrike on March 17, 2007 in Puttur under the auspices of Farmers First Trust (FFT).

  • CAAM completes another eventful year

    With a positive response for its activities in farmer-friendly farm journalism, CAAM has completed sixth year of its activities. The annual ceremony would be held on December 10, 2006 at Grama Chethana, Surashettikoppa near Hubballi, Karnataka.

    CAAM has announced its awards for best farm articles for the year 2006. The awards, given in two categories are bagged by Bengali Venkatesha of Sirsi and Ganadhalu Srikanta, Bangalore.

    ‘Shatashrungada Saalinalli’ is a collection of articles written by enthusiastic journalist Anandateertha Pyati. The book focuses on positive developments in the farm sector.

  • Adike Pathrike gets new pace

    Adike Pathrike, pioneering farm journal in Kannada produced and crafted by practicing farmers has put a step forward in its eighteenth year of publication.

  • BCRT's efforts honoured

    The Karnataka State Government has conferred the prestigious Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Environment Award for the year 2006-2007 to Biodiversity Conservation & Research Trust (BCRT) acknowledging its efforts towards bringing ecological balance through afforestation in Anuganalu, a village situated at the foot of Western Ghats.

  • 'Savayava Parampareya Kathana' released

    Considering the need to document and popularise efforts in organic farming Institute for Cultural Research and Action, ICRA has published a book titled ‘ Savayava Parampareya Kathana’. The book compiled by V. Gayathri (Managing Editor of Sahaja Saguvali, a magazine dedicated to natural farming) has documented the experiences and innovations of seven organic farmers across Karnataka.

  • CAAM awards for best farm articles announced

    The Centre for Alternative Agricultural Media, CAAM has announced its awards for best farm articles for the year 2005. The awards, given in two categories are bagged by Mr. Subrahmanya Hegde of Sirsi and Ms. V. Gayathri from Bangalore.

  • CAAM ventures into publication

    CAAM has ventured into book publication by releasing its first book 'Teredabaavi Marupoorana - Kakolada Yashogathe' (Openwell Recharging - Kakol's Success Story). This 24-page booklet in Kannada is written by development journalist Mr. Poornaprajna Belur.

  • Diploma in farm journalism

    CAAM has announced third batch of candidates for the one-year diploma course in farm journalism. The course will commnce from December 2005 to October 2006. The correspondence diploma, first of its kind in Kannada, was launched in 2003 to encourage farmer-friendly farm journalism in Kannada.

  • Farm journalism awards announced

    Mr. B.N. Nandeesh from Shimoga and Mr. Mallikarjuna Hosapalya from Tumkur have obtained CAAM's farm journalism awards for the year 2004. The awards carry a cash prize of Rs.2000 each besides a citation and a parisara shilpa.

  • CAAM initiates 'Media for Sustainable Development'

    One of the objectives of CAAM is to facilitate the media to focus on the positive efforts carried out in the rural areas. With this in mind, CAAM has introduced a programme called, 'Media for Sustainable Development' to establish a link between development and media.
