Let me welcome your good intention to set up a centre for alternative agricultural media. This is, no doubt, a praiseworthy effort. I've carefully gone through your objective and background.  I'm interested to go through the test run e-bulletins you have already released.
I'm new generation television journalist in Bangladesh. I'm working with newly established owned television named Ekushey Television. You might hear about it. You know, Bangladesh is an agricultural country. But unfortunately, here press doesn't give much coverage on agricultural items. I'm those a handful journalist who try to write on agriculture and the problems of the teeming farmers. I also fight so that coverage on agriculture is given. I'm ready to help you in this regard.

I am interested in your idea to encourage more 'down-to-earth' agricultural journalism. Since taking over this magazine I have been trying to find people who could write articles about different aspects of farming. I get offered quite a number of academic papers from researchers, but this is not what I want. I want, and I am sure readers would like, stories that focus more on the practical side of farming, or on schemes and programmes that help to alleviate poverty and improve family livelihoods. The experiences of people who have tried this and that technology, and adapted it to their conditions, are, I believe, of interest and help to readers. It is also far more credible to have a first-hand report, rather than something second or third-hand.
I would welcome any initiative that aims to have a network of writers across the world who could make contributions from time to time, not just on agriculture but other aspects of development. I would be interested in reading some of your e-bulletins.

Congratulation for your great idea. Let me first introduce myself. I am a journalist of Nepal working for 13 years in The Rising Nepal, an English daily. I am also associated with online media www.nepalnews.com  and Nepal Institute of Mass Communication.
I appreciate your idea as India is an agricultural country and I find mainstream media give not much coverage to agriculture-- backbone of Indian economy. Similar situation is in Nepal. Although Nepal is an agricultural country with almost 90 per cent people depending on agriculture, this sector hardly gets priority of the media. I also intend to form a group of journalists and persuade them to specialize in agriculture and work as Communication Bridge between farmers and policy makers, planners and officials. Much has been spent in Nepal in the name of farmers, but farmers are the ones who get the least benefit. You idea has further motivated me. If you think I can be of any help, please tell me. I also want similar cooperation from you. I want to suggest you to create in international network and do some thing to train and motivate journalists to write and specialise in agriculture.
