Mr. S.M. Akash, born in 1972 in Sachilapur Village, Magura District, of Bangladesh has done his Post-graduation in Mass Communication from Dhaka University, in 1994. He has undergone training in informal education and campus reporting organised by the Press Institution of Bangladesh. He has also attended various workshops and training programs on writing on women's issues. He attended a workshop on advanced reporting sponsored by British Council and Thomas Foundation in 1997. He has attended a two-month training in TV Journalism conducted by BBC. Mr. Akash served as a sub-editor for United News of Bangladesh (ANB) for four years and also, as a staff reporter in the Associate Press of Bangladesh (APB) for two years. He has a number of articles to his credit, published in English magazines. He is interested in agriculture journalism and doing his best to spread the farmer-friendly information/values in his country. Mr. Akash is presently working as a news producer for Ekushey TV (the privately owned only network in Bangladesh) since 1999. |
