Dr. R. M. Prasad, born on 7th November 1954, is presently working as Professor and Head, Communication Centre, Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), Trichur in Kerala State, India. He took his doctorate in Agriculture with specialisation in Agricultural Extension from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore in 1983. He has a diploma in Training and Development from Indian Society for Training and Development, New Delhi. His areas of specialization are Communication, Training and Rural Development.

Dr. Prasad has worked in KAU since 1977 in various capacities. He has more than 22 years experience in teaching, research and extension. He had also served as Training Consultant for two EU funded projects in Kerala, viz ., Kerala Horticulture Development Programme (KHDP) and Kerala Minor Irrigation Programme ( KMIP). He has rich experience in working with the micro level organisations viz ., self help groups in Kerala.

Dr. Prasad is the life member of Indian Society of Extension Education and also Indian Society for Training and Development. He is the Vice Chairman of DARSHAN, an NGO based at Kochi. He has been involved in training farmers in journalism.
