Shivaram Pailoor

Born in a farmers' family in Kukkujadka, a village in Karnataka State, Shivaram Pailoor completed his post graduation in Journalism and Mass Communication. He has done his doctoral study on the "Role and Effectiveness of Agricultural Communication in Dakshina Kannada District - An Analytical Study."

Since 1988, he has been working in the field of mass communication - in print, electronic media and public relations. He has been involved in farm journalism for more than a decade. Besides editing a journal on beekeeping for 15 years, Pailoor has edited Spice India (Kannada) and Indian Spices, published by the Spices Board India. He is closely associated with Adike Pathrike's efforts in training farmers in journalism. Also he had taken initiative in forming SAVAYAVA - a forum for organic farming in his village.

Pailoor joined the Indian Information Service in 1991 as a Field Publicity Officer. In 1997 he moved to All India Radio, Dharwad, Karnataka as a correspondent. Presently he is designated as the Assistant News Editor and is Incharge of the News Unit.
