  • Programme in memory of Masanobu Fukuoka

Nature has its own theory. It maintains a fine balance in ecology. When human interference disturbs the laws of nature, it will have negative implications, said, K.B. Virupakshar, a non-chemical farmer who has been practicing all the four principles of Fukuoka in his farm near Hubli. He further said that Fukuokan principles of ‘natural farming’ which eschews ploughing, weeding and the use of fertilizers or pesticides suits very well to horticulture crops. In agriculture, people should decide upon local-specific practices which are nature-friendly. Virupakshar was sharing his farming experiences at the programme organized in memory of Japanese farmer Masanobu Fukuoka who advocated natural farming.
